Herring Engineering is a full service machine shop which is owned and operated by Duncan Herring. Herring has many years of experience as a machinist, both professionally and personally. He built his first live steam locomotive engine using a manual mill and lathe when he was in his early twenties. Today he builds diesel electric engines that are green (as in environmentally responsible!), battery-operated and easy to maintain and use. There are several models to choose from, but aside from the hobby, Herring Engineering also provides machine services to the most discriminating clients. We focus on QUALITY and DETAIL and specialize in expert precision and customized machine jobs. We pride ourselves in working with our customers in a timely manner. We have expertise with small quantity work as well as large quantities and have been especially successful with prototype work and custom machine jobs.
